Join us for a screening of The Pylos Shipwreck as part of Volksbühne Berlin’s event marking World Refugee Day on 20 June.

The film presents the findings of the investigation carried out by Forensis and Forensic Architecture into the sinking of the boat Adriana within the Greek Search and Rescue Zone in the Mediterranean Sea on 14 June 2023.

The award-winning work demonstrated that the Hellenic Coast Guard’s actions led to the capsizing of the boat carrying migrants, causing more than 600 deaths.

The analysis drew on images and videos, AIS data, satellite imagery, and digital modelling in support of the testimony of survivors, whose words and agency were crucial to unpicking the inconsistent account presented by the Hellenic Coast Guard.
